So, if you're a Gallows or Cancer Bats fan and want to pay some back, or the idea of Henry Rollins' current spoken word tour just doesn't cut it in the nostalgia stakes.well, you know what to do - for Jerry, Pig Champion and the boys too. Napalm Death, Sepultura, Nirvana, Pantera (who covered PI's The Badge on The Crow soundtrack) and many other bands spanning thrash, rock, metal, punk and hardcore owe their dues to the coin-eating, dont-give-a-fuck intensity of Poison Idea.
Description
A fast and fun arcade-style game. AirXonix is a modern 3-dimensional remake of the famous Xonix game. In the older Xonix you controlled a device, which moved over a field with several monster-balls wandering inside. The objective was to cut the balls away from as much spare field as possible. The rules of AirXonix are almost the same, except the device you control is flying in the air and everything is in full 3D! AirXonix includes 5 types of games with more then 80 levels.
GAME RULES:
You control the flying device, which moves above the playing field. Your goal is to fill in the majority of the field. To achieve it, you have to fly above a clear area, and to cut off parts without the balls. (At the same time the balls should not cross your trajectory!) Avoid contacts with the mines, which move on the filled areas. Playing time for each level is limited. Collect the bonuses to gain life, to increase score and time, to slow down all balls and mines.

Gem of Nostalgic Perfection
Airxonix Game Free
Super addictive PC game with appealingly low-rez visuals that beckon back to simpler times for 3D. So glad it got a mobile port. Power ups and different enemy types keep it interesting. Sound design is catchy and for some reason makes me think of Myst-era PC games. Definitely under-appreciated, used to play all the time as a kid.
Fun modern take on Qix
Outstanding port of the old PC version of this game. Controls are easy and responsive. Graphics are simple and the 3D effect works out really well. If you enjoyed play QIX in the 80s then you will enjoy this modern take on the classic game.
Great addition to your retro collection
Would like to see more from this developer, like axysnake or the retro Warcraft 1.

Fans of the arcade classic Qix already know how to play AirXonix, and new gamers will quickly figure it out. You control a spaceship that traps balls by marking out territory. The level ends when you've claimed a certain percentage of the board. The controls are simple: You trace out paths with the arrow keys. If a ball hits your path, the path breaks. If a ball or a roaming spike-ball hits you, you lose a life. Bonuses include extra lives, time, and money. You can adjust the volume of the space-age music and sound effects and set the control keys. Sometimes the 3D graphics interfere with the play, such as when a bonus notification blocked our view of an approaching enemy. Also, we longed to play in windowed mode. The trial presents two splash screens on quitting and includes only the seven Easy boards, but we didn't mind. Overall, the enjoyable AirXonix should please retro gamers of all ages.
